Infants - (LARVA)
Infants and toddlers learn best in environments where they can have secure relationships with caring and responsive adults, and where they feel safe and free to explore and learn. Our babies are made to feel safe, secure, and happy. This class gives warm, caring teachers an opportunity to bond and develop trust with little ones. Each child has a primary caregiver who will guide your child’s development and be your main point of contact.
Children will enjoy:
Warm, nurturing environment
Stimulating activities with educational toys
Researched based- milestone-based curriculum

Who Are These Toddlers?
The world revolves around them. They are babies who are bosses, learning control but yet get confused by boundaries. They want to be independent but yet keep an adult close in case they are afraid. They like you only if you feed them. They need security always and love when they chose you. They are here to have fun and to exercise their independence and to show you how much they know.
Emergent uses The Creative Curriculum in our toddler and pre-school classrooms. This is a research-based curriculum that defines goals in four areas of development:
Social-Emotional: Helps children develop independence, self-confidence, and self- control, follow rules and routines, make friends, and learn what it means to be part of a group.
Physical: Increases children’s large muscle skills, such as balancing, running, jumping, throwing, and catching; and engages small muscles in their hands to do tasks, such as buttoning, stringing beads, cutting, drawing, and writing.
Cognitive: Develops critical thinking skills, such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions, and think logically (sorting, classifying, comparing, counting, and making patterns and to use materials and their imagination to show what they have learned).
Language: Uses words to communicate with others, listen to and participate in conversations with others, understand the purpose of print, recognize letters and words, and begin writing for a purpose. We accomplish our goals through the activities planned, thoughtful classroom arrangements, age appropriate selections of toys and materials, established routines, and interactions with children.
3-Year Old Preschool Class - (PUPA or CHRYSALIS)
The Third Stage: Pupa
The pupa stage is one of the coolest stages of a butterfly’s life. As soon as a caterpillar is done growing and they have reached their full length/weight, they form themselves into a pupa, also known as a chrysalis. From the outside of the pupa, it looks as if the caterpillar may just be resting, but the inside is where all of the action is. Inside of the pupa, the caterpillar is rapidly changing. Within the chrysalis the old body parts of the caterpillar are undergoing a remarkable transformation, called ‘metamorphosis,’ to become the beautiful parts that make up the butterfly that will emerge. Tissue, limbs and organs of a caterpillar have all been changed by the time the pupa is finished, and is now ready for the final stage of a butterfly’s life cycle.
How we apply this theory: Researched Based Curriculum (Creative Curriculum) with supplemented Language Arts Curriculum (Core Knowledge). By intentional planning the inquiry. Facilitating the discussions. Testing different theories towards the students conclusion. Facilitating documentation towards their initial conclusion, testing theory and supporting their conclusion with real-life experiences.
