Emergent Preparatory Academy serves children from 6 weeks to 4 years old in a structured, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports early development through play, exploration, and meaningful learning experiences.

Our programs operate from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM across multiple locations in SE, SW, and NE Washington, DC, with continued expansion planned.

Site Director

Role Overview:

Provide leadership and oversight of daily center operations, ensuring high-quality instruction, regulatory compliance, and a structured, supportive learning environment for children, families, and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a childcare or educational setting

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience required

  • Strong knowledge of licensing regulations and program operations

This role is ideal for educators who are ready to transition from classroom instruction into leadership and operational excellence.

Lead Teacher (Preschool / Pre-K)
Role Overview:
Lead the classroom by implementing structured lesson plans, guiding children’s development, and maintaining a high-quality learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree (or higher) in Early Childhood Education or related field with at least 15 ECE Credits

  • Experience in a childcare or classroom setting preferred

Lead Teacher (Preschool)
Role Overview:
Lead the classroom by implementing structured lesson plans, guiding children’s development, and maintaining a high-quality learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • CDA and current enrolled in higher education program; or current enrolled in higher education with at least 48 credit hours.

Assistant Teacher (Infant / Toddler / Preschool)

Role Overview:
Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining a nurturing, engaging, and structured classroom environment while assisting with daily routines and activities.

Qualifications:

  • CDA required

  • Passion for working with young children

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
