Complaints and Deficiencies: Full Transparency
Reported Concern: A concern involving a staff member was identified and formally reported by program leadership in accordance with mandated reporting requirements. The concern related to potential inappropriate discipline practices, including possible harmful interactions with a child.

Following a comprehensive investigation, all allegations were determined to be unsubstantiated.
Emergent Preparatory Academy maintains strict policies prohibiting any form of physical discipline or harmful behavior. Our program is grounded in positive behavior support strategies, staff training annually, and continuous supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of every child.
No violations were found, and no corrective actions were required.

Unsubstantiated, however, DC OSSE issued a Corrective Action requiring training for all staff in Child Abuse and Neglect.
Reported Concern: A concern was reported regarding the availability and temperature of hot running water within the facility. (Substantiated)

Requirements

Pursuant to 45 CFR§ 98.33 (a) (4), the investigation results of all substantiated complaints will be
published on OSSE’s My Child Care DC website. These findings represent OSSE’s final disposition
regarding the allegations in Complaint #26890 and are not subject to any further administrative
review.

Summary: Upon notification of the concern, Emergent Preparatory Academy took immediate action to address the issue. The hot water tank was promptly replaced within 24 hours to ensure consistent access to properly heated running water throughout the facility.
